Seville is located in the south of Spain on the Guadalquivir River which splits the city in two. Inhabited by 700,000 people it is Spain 4th largest city and financial capital of Andalucia. This city has a lot to offer culturally and can be seen in the vast array of Spanish architecture and old style churches. It is important to know where to live during your time in Seville. This neighborhood overview should give you a better sense of the layout of the city.


El Arenal

This is the most central part of the town and a great place to stay if you are only there for a few days. This area is close to all the main tourist destinations such as the Bull Ring, main Cathedral, and Calle Sierpes shopping strip. This area is also vibrant at night and you can find many restaurants and bars along its main streets.

Barrio Santa Cruz

Barrio Santa Cruz is the most historic part of Seville and home to The Torre del Oro. The streets paved with cobblestone and hidden patios will give you a true Andalusian feel when you are exploring here.

La Macarena

Visit this area if you are looking for an authentic taste of life in a Seville neighborhood. Although a bit far from the city's center, you will most definitely dive into traditional Spanish culture when you stroll through this neighborhood.
